1. Project Overview<= /b>

Power Projects h= as been selected to develop precise protection settings for two 11 kV, 100 = MVA generator units. The assignment covers complete differential and restri= cted earth fault protection calculations based on ABB relay logic, settings= structure and operational constraints.

The study ensures protecti= on reliability, fast internal fault detection and stability during normal a= nd external fault conditions. The deliverables will support commissioning, = safety compliance and long-term operational reliability.

 
 
 

2. Scope Highlights

Under this engagement, Power Projec= ts will perform a complete unit protection study for the generator system. = The study covers Generator Differential Protection (87G) and Restricted Ear= th Fault Protection (64REF), along with validation of generator data, CT sp= ecifications and system parameters.

The scope also includes review= ing input conditions, checking compatibility with relay logic and preparing= a detailed study report. This structured review will help ensure safe oper= ation of the 11 kV, 100 MVA generator units and improve the reliability of = protection coordination across the system.

<= b>3. Differential and REF Settings Developed to Match ABB Template= s

Power Projects will prepare the differential and REF protection settin= gs based on ABB=E2=80=99s relay configuration templates. These settings wil= l be calculated in line with the expected operating behaviour of the genera= tors, enabling fast and selective fault clearance during internal faults an= d ensuring stability under external disturbances.

The protection l= ogic will be customised to match ABB=E2=80=99s operating curves, pickup cri= teria, sensitivity requirements and restraint characteristics. This ensures= the final protection settings are practical, OEM-compliant and ready for c= ommissioning without modification.

 
 

= 4. Technical Scope and Methodology

Power Projects will follow = a structured and transparent engineering process to complete this assignmen= t. Each step is designed to give the client clear, accurate and validated p= rotection settings.

4.1 Data Verification
 All gen= erator, CT, transformer and system parameters will be checked for correctne= ss and completeness:
Generator ratings, impedance and winding config= uration
=E2=96=BA CT ratios, knee-point voltage, class, burden and satur= ation limits
=E2=96=BA Grounding method and system short-circuit levels<= br>=E2=96=BA Transformer parameters and interface equipment
